Character Styles
For highlighting names of authors or foreign-language phrases, italics can be used. However, a more efficient way is to apply character styles to format single characters or entire words and phrases. By applying character styles you can perform a more focused search for the information you are looking for. For example, rather than searching for all words or phrases in italics, you can search for the exact information you need, such as “author” or “foreign-language phrase”. Using character styles also enables you to easily modify the style at any time. This is particularly important if towards the end of the document you decide you want to change the way you highlight certain text.
